Run to finals 2019

We've just past the mid year holiday period which is always a challenge, finals footy is just around the corner and all our teams are in great positions at the business end of the season. The Men's A, B & C Grade have 3 more rounds to play with the D Grade and Women's teams 2 matches left before finals.

We have 2 more home matches before finals for the division 3 Men's teams and would really love to get as much support out as possible. Club Platinum Sponsor Grill'd Norwood are looking after the catering for both the remaining home matches and we will have the upstairs bar open all afternoon and for an hour after the Men's A Grade is finished. So please come along and support the club.

The Women's team had a tough match on the weekend vs Broadview who are top of the ladder and a very strong team. Playing out on the main Karen Rolton Oval in front of a great crowd our team gave it their all but weren't able to overcome the undefeated Broadview. Plenty of positives to come out of the game with the return of key players and also things to work on leading into finals. The girls are 3rd on the ladder with Golden Grove at Golden Grove and Tea Tree Gully at home still to play. Looking forward to seeing them play finals for the second year in a row, make sure you come out and cheer them on!

D Grade have had a good run of results recently winning their last 3 matches find themselves 4th on the ladder with Golden Grove and Tea Tree Gully to come. These next two weeks will be the true test of where they are at, taking on the top 2 teams back to back leading into the finals. Get along and support the guys, it's tough for them not playing at the same ground every week so it's greatly appreciated when they have a crowd come along.

C Grade are looking like a really formidable side. They completely dismantled Glenunga on the weekend to the tune of 30 goals with Charles Woodham kicking a bag of 10! Their strength really proves how much squad depth the club has at the moment and it's exciting to see the guys enjoying themselves out on the park. Sitting 3rd on the ladder the next three minor round matches against Flinders Park, Golden Grove and Plympton will give them a chance to see their finals opposition.

B Grade are also looking very dangerous heading towards finals. Getting some players back in from injury and other commitments has strengthened the team and they are currently 2nd on the ladder. This week vs Flinders Park who are top in the division will be a real test but either way the result goes, they will learn a lot about the opposition we could come up against in the finals.

If you missed the A Grade match on the weekend vs Glenunga, you missed one of the matches of the season (luckily you can watch it back on YouTube here). Glenunga are top of the ladder with a very strong side but our guys all stepped up and played their roles to celebrate Jared Centenera's 100th and Patrick Connelly's 200th match for the club, with a superb win! The team find themselves in a great spot to challenge in finals but will need to see out the remaining games against some tough sides to lock in that 2nd spot and the double chance home final.
