Dear All,
Firstly I'd like to acknowledge the recent passing of Justin Hogan, a valued life member who made significant contributions both on & off the field over many years. His presence will be sorely missed & we have Justin's loved ones in our thoughts, Vale Hoges.

Season ’26 is finally upon us, so I thought I’d give a quick update since our last correspondence.
There has been plenty going on—numbers on the track have been building and we consistently have over 100 training across both the women’s and men’s programs. The groups are fit, connected and raring to go.
Importantly, both programs have been working hard on the track learning and implementing Pretz & Bails’ game plans for the season. The buy-in and intent from the playing group has been strong, and it’s been pleasing to see that translate into our trial form.
Our teams competed in trial matches over the last few weeks with very positive signs. In particular, the men's & women's hit-out against Division 1 outfits SHOC & Broadview respectively was a strong test and we more than held our own across both programs. It was a great indicator of where we are at and what we are building towards. At our recent team building day Pretz & Bails ran a workshop with the group to develop a club credo for the season. The groups came up with below that will define what they want to be known for & more importantly what they will be accountable to, I also love the inclusion of the word 'now' to bring some urgency to the call.

Bring on Round 1—Women’s vs SMOSH at KRO and Men’s vs Unley Mercedes away at Kingswood Oval on Saturday 18th April.
Off the field, The Bath Hotel has committed as our major sponsor. The Franzon family has been a huge supporter of our club over many years, and we would not be in the strong position we are in today without their backing. Let’s ensure we get back to the Bath by 7pm for presentations after the games on Saturday.
I would also like to thank all club sponsors who have committed to supporting us in season ’26. The response from our community has been enormous and is greatly appreciated. We will be actively promoting your businesses throughout the season.
Once again, Ben Black & Julie Winter will be the club’s Player Welfare Officers. We thank Julie & Ben for their continued commitment in this space, if any player needs support, please reach out—they are there for you.
C Grade Coach – A Call to the Iggies Community
We are still seeking a C Grade Coach, and this remains a critical role for our club in 2026.
Our C Grade program is fundamental to:
developing our younger players
supporting returning and social players
and building the depth and sustainability of the club
This is a genuine opportunity to make a meaningful impact—not just on-field, but across the culture of the group and the broader club environment.
If you, or someone in your network, has the time, energy and passion to step into this role, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out directly—we need the support of our community to fill this important position.
Club Membership
We launch our club membership offering in this edition, with a goal of reaching 60 members across parents, supporters and past players. The package includes a club cap, stubbie holder and travel coffee mug, along with a game day drink card, priced at $150 or $125 for two or more from the same household. We look forward to a strong response as part of our ‘relationship’ pillar.

https://nelsonteamwear.com.au/club/oifc On the social side, our annual lawn bowls day was very well supported with over 70 in attendance. Feedback from the Toorak Bowling Club was again outstanding, particularly around the behaviour and respect shown by our members. Congratulations to all on living our club values—it does not go unnoticed.
Player Auction – Sunday 19th April
The Player Auction is a staple of the Iggies social calendar and a vital fundraiser for the club. Thank you to those who have already secured tickets, formed syndicates and are ready to bid, as always, be prepared—Ricky Ward will find you. Please click on the link below to book your tickets:

Firstly, a big thank you to those who have already put their hands up to support the BBQ roster this season—these contributions are critical to delivering a great game day experience for our players, supporters and visitors.
We do still have a few gaps across both programs. If you can assist, please reach out—many hands make light work and it’s a great way to get involved around the club.

That’s all until the next update, can't wait for the season to get underway, we are all pumped.
If you have any questions, please reach out & I look forward to seeing you all at the footy.
Regards,
Bevan Ferrari
President
