The Old Ignatians Football Club was formed by the old scholars of Saint Ignatius College and joined the SA Amateur Football League (now Adelaide Footy League) in 1972.

In our first year the Club was comprised solely of old scholars from the College, providing

them with the opportunity to continue their sporting and social pursuits. In the following years friends of players joined the Club and a strong relationship with Aquinas College was also established, resulting in many young country students joining our Club.

We are one of the largest amateur football clubs in South Australia – fielding four Men's and two Women's teams every week. The Club is based at Karen Rolton Oval and enjoys some of the best facilities in amateur football.

2021 proved to be an exceptional and historic year for the Club. We fielded four men’s teams and two women’s teams. Five of those teams made their respective Grand Final, with three teams being successful: The A Grade Women’s Team and the A & B Grade Men’s Team.

In 2022 we joined Division 1 competition (both Men and Women) for the first time in our history.

Our vision is to provide an environment that will allow our players to play with passion and integrity in an enjoyable atmosphere, whilst showing respect to each other, our supporters and officials, and the opposition and their supporters.

We are determined to keep the OIFC as a thriving, innovative and professional club, that continues to develop and maximise participation in Australian Rules Football and supports its players both on and off the field.

As the Club celebrates its 52nd year in 2024, our need for additional funding and resourcing continues to be one of the Club’s greatest challenges we face in an environment of increasing costs, as we continue to field six teams every week.

The Club has established an Operations Fund where donations will be used to support the day to day running of the Club. We are seeking your financial support to enable us to:

-       Attract high quality coaches to support the development of our players;

-       Continue to support the development of women’s football at Old Ignatians and the

community more broadly;

-       Invest in sporting equipment; and

-       Assist the general day to day operation costs for the Club, including: facility charges, league affiliation fees, administration and support for our football department.

As a donor to the Old Ignatians Football Club through the Australian Sports Foundation,

you can choose your level of support, or in-between:

Captains Club $1,000

Presidents Club $1,500

If you support our Club through the Australian Sports Foundation, your donation will be tax deductible.

Thank you for your generous support.
